Hand Painted Porcelain
As one of Royal Worcester Porcelain Company's leading artists
I painted their most exclusive vases until leaving in 1980 to embark upon
a freelance career as a full time watercolour artist. I have however, continued
to paint on porcelain, concentrating mainly on "one off" plaques,
vases and plates for individual clients.
As well as game birds, wildfowl, animals & still life it is possible to
have houses, churches, views and family pets painted onto bone china.
After initially teaching watercolour painting on the small
Greek Island of Alonissos in the 80's, my wife Jane and I finally decided
to set down some roots there.
With the help of some very good friends on Alonissos we discovered an old
olive grove surrounded by pine forest overlooking the Aegean - a perfect location
for us both - nothing but the birds and cicada's to wake us up in the morning!
But within walking distance to the main harbour for supplies and beaches for
swimming. After buying the land in 2005 we designed our own house and studio,
it was completed in 2006, and we are now lucky enough to live and work there
from May to October.
In addition to painting and completing commissions, I organise painting holidays
and classes throughout the summer (as featured in Sunvil Holidays Specialist
Greece)

About the Artist
I left Swansea University in the 1970's and trained as a
ceramic artist at the Royal Worcester Porcelain Company. After becoming one
of their leading painters I turned freelance in 1980. Since then my watercolours,
oils and ceramics have sold to galleries and collectors in the UK, Japan,
USA, Australia, the Middle East and Europe.
Together with my wife Jane, I am now lucky enough to spend the summer months
painting and holding watercolour painting courses from our house on the Greek
Island of Alonissos. Whilst there I'm enjoying working with oils and watercolours
as I attempt to capture the wonderful colours and light of the Aegean.
We return each Autumn to our UK home to catch up with family and friends and
of course continue painting.
